Speckle Interferometry at the US Naval Observatory. VIII. The results of 2044 speckle interferometric observations of doublestars, made with the 26 inch (66 cm) refractor of the US NavalObservatory, are presented. Each speckle interferometric observation ofa system represents a combination of over a thousand short-exposureimages. These observations are averaged into 1399 mean positions andrange in separation from 0.16" to 14.97", with a mean separation of2.51". This is the eighth in a series of papers presenting measuresobtained with this system and covers the period 2001 March 18 through2001 December 30.
| CCD photometry and astrometry of visual double and multiple stars of the HIPPARCOS Catalogue. II. CCD photometry and differential astrometry of 288 southern ``Intermediate'' systems We present photometric and astrometric data of about 280 visual doublestars of the ``intermediate'' class, i.e. with angular separationsmainly in the range 2arcsec < rho < 12arcsec . The observationshave been obtained in 1991-92 with a CCD camera attached to the 91 cmDutch telescope at ESO La Silla, Chile. Differential magnitudes of thedouble star components as well as magnitudes and colour indices of theindividual components have been determined in the Cousins V and Ipassbands with an internal error of about 0.005 mag and an externalaccuracy of less than 0.03 mag. In addition, angular separations havebeen secured to an internal accuracy of 0.004arcsec and position anglesto about 0.05degr. | CCD astrometry and UBV photometry of visual binaries. II. Visual double stars with mainly G - type primaries and relatively small angular separation Differences Delta V of magnitude and Delta (B-V) and Delta (U-B)colours, as well as separations and position angles of 42 relativelyclose double stars are presented. The selection criteria of our sampleare: the relatively small separation (between 2.5 and 5 arcseconds),magnitude difference under 1.25 mag, and mainly G-type primaries. TheCCD observations, performed at the 90 cm Dutch telescope at ESO, weremade using the Bessel U, B and V filters; the astrometry was done in theV filter only. From the analysis of the photometric data we concludethat 16 binaries in our sample have components with practically the sameT_eff, since they have almost the same colours; one binary hascomponents with identical characteristics. We also note the goodinternal accuracy of the astrometric CCD measurements. Based onobservations made at ESO La Silla, Chile.
