Absolute proper motions of open clusters. I. Observational data Mean proper motions and parallaxes of 205 open clusters were determinedfrom their member stars found in the Hipparcos Catalogue. 360 clusterswere searched for possible members, excluding nearby clusters withdistances D < 200 pc. Members were selected using ground basedinformation (photometry, radial velocity, proper motion, distance fromthe cluster centre) and information provided by Hipparcos (propermotion, parallax). Altogether 630 certain and 100 possible members werefound. A comparison of the Hipparcos parallaxes with photometricdistances of open clusters shows good agreement. The Hipparcos dataconfirm or reject the membership of several Cepheids in the studiedclusters. Tables 1 and 2 are only available in electronic form at theCDS via anonymous ftp to cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr (130.79.128.5) or viahttp://cdsweb.u-strasbg.fr/Abstract.html
| Vitesses radiales. Catalogue WEB: Wilson Evans Batten. Subtittle: Radial velocities: The Wilson-Evans-Batten catalogue. We give a common version of the two catalogues of Mean Radial Velocitiesby Wilson (1963) and Evans (1978) to which we have added the catalogueof spectroscopic binary systems (Batten et al. 1989). For each star, when possible, we give: 1) an acronym to enter SIMBAD (Set ofIdentifications Measurements and Bibliography for Astronomical Data) ofthe CDS (Centre de Donnees Astronomiques de Strasbourg). 2) the numberHIC of the HIPPARCOS catalogue (Turon 1992). 3) the CCDM number(Catalogue des Composantes des etoiles Doubles et Multiples) byDommanget & Nys (1994). For the cluster stars, a precise study hasbeen done, on the identificator numbers. Numerous remarks point out theproblems we have had to deal with.
| The open cluster NGC 6716 NGC 6716 is a young open star cluster in Sagittarius. Lindoff (1971)obtained photoelectric photometry for 12 stars and photographic UBVphotometry for 115 stars in the cluster field down to V = 13.8. Thiswork has been expanded to include more photoelectric standards and irisphotometry for 332 stars in the cluster field down to V = 16. Areddening E(B-V) = 0.17 mag, a distance modulus of 8.69 + or - 0.15 mag(d = 547 pc), and an age of around 100 million years for the cluster arederived. Of the stars studied, 75 were judged as likely cluster members,63 as possible members, and 194 as probable nonmembers.
| A photometric investigation of cluster membership for the Cepheid BB Sagittarii Photoelectric UBV and VRI photometry is presented for the close pair ofopen clusters Cr 394 and NGC 6716 and for the 6.64 d classical CepheidBB Sgr. For Cr 394, E(B-V) = 0.25 + or - 0.01, V(0)-M(V) = 9.04 + or -0.08, d = 643 + or - 25 pc, age is about 60 million yr, nuclear radiusis 9 arcmin, and tidal radius is 27 arcmin. For NGC 6716, E(B-V) = 0.11+ or 0.01, V(0)-M(V) = 9.07 + or - 0.17, d = 650 + or - 52 pc, age isabout 60 million yr, nuclear radius 7 arcmin. The data combined withstar counts for the region of the cluster demonstrate that the Cepheidis a likely member of Cr 394.
| H-beta photometry of southern early-type stars and galactic structure away from the plane H-beta photoelectric photometry is reported for 165 early-type stars atintermediate and high galactic latitudes. The data are combined withearlier UBV and spectroscopic results to determine the stellar spacedistribution. Stars of type B2 and earlier, at distances of up to 1 kpcfrom the galactic plane, appear to follow spiral structure in the plane. The available material, particularly the derived color excesses, is usedto select a number of blue stars which may be subluminous.
