The XO Planetary Survey Project: Astrophysical False Positives Searches for planetary transits find many astrophysical false positivesas a by-product. There are four main types analyzed in the literature: agrazing-incidence eclipsing binary (EB) star, an EB star with a smallradius companion star, a blend of one or more stars with an unrelated EBstar, and a physical triple star system. We present a list of 69astrophysical false positives that had been identified as candidates oftransiting planets of the on-going XO survey. This list may be useful inorder to avoid redundant observation and characterization of theseparticular candidates that have been independently identified by otherwide-field searches for transiting planets. The list may be useful forthose modeling the yield of the XO survey and surveys similar to it.Subsequent observations of some of the listed stars may improvemass-radius relations, especially for low-mass stars. From thecandidates exhibiting eclipses, we report three new spectroscopicdouble-line binaries and give mass function estimations for 15single-line spectroscopic binaries.
| UVBY beta photometry of peculiar B and A stars, discovered at Abastumani Stromgren uvby photometry for 70 peculiar Bp, Ap, or Am type stars ispresented. The model grid of Relyea and Kurucz (1978) is used to obtaineffective temperatures and log g values, confirming the dwarf-nature ofAm stars. Good agreement is found between effective temperatures andequivalent spectral classes derived from the (b-y)0 values, although theA4-A5 stars in this sample may be cooler than normal stars ofluminosity-class III-V in this spectral range.
